Do you love hearts? These simple images are fun for decorating and holidays such as Valentine’s Day. Canvas art sold at stores can be pricey, so I like to create my own.  I decided to paint a large heart on a canvas, which is a simple to do. This is how the art project evolved.

Fold a sheet of tracing paper in half and draw a heart on it.
I folded a sheet of tracing paper in half and drew a heart on it.
I unfolded the tracing paper to view the symmetrical heart. drawing. Creating half of the heart illustration on the fold tracing paper allowed the pencil to rub through onto the other side. I went over the impression to darken it in places.

Next, I flipped the heart drawing to the other side.

After I finished painting the heart on the canvas, I allowed the oil paint to dry for a few days. I need to go back in and touch up some of the scalloped edge, but the painting is almost finished.
