This drawing is based on a photograph I took of Snoopy and Ashbury back in 1997.

Snoopy and Ashbury are two cats touching noses.

As you can see from the photograph, the stripey orange male cat is touching noses with the gray and white female kitten. This picture was captured in the spring of 1997 among the daffodils and hyacinth flowers.

The outline drawing I am creating will be used at the outline for an oil painting.

Colored Pencil Drawing of Annie The Cat
I finally completed the colored pencil drawing of Annie the cat.

Yesterday I finished the colored pencil drawing of Annie the cat, and the photos below highlight how I created this illustration.

I have started trying a picture of Annie cat looking over the hillside. There are two scrub oak trees next to her.

I am at the half-way point of the drawing. The scrub oak trees have almost all shaded in.

Meticulously coloring in the sky around the scrub oak trees was a time consuming task. This art project was one of patience and precision.

In this video you can see what the pink quartz rock looks like after I finished shading it in with oil pastels. There are many pink quartz rocks like this one up in the San Bernardino Mountains.
