Y Is For The Happy New Year Card

Today the letter Y is for the Happy New Year Card.  Sure January 1 is long past at this point, but I decided to share a crafty project that I made with the letter Y in it.  Making a Happy New Year card creative and amusing, and here are the pictures illustrating my creation.  The drawing on the front of the card is of the view of Mount Baldy here in Southern California, which is based on a photograph I took awhile back.

  1. I know of Mt Baldy. Always pass it when I’m heading back East. Actually I maybe can see it from my house, but I don’t know which mountain is which so I can’t say for sure. A homemade card would be a nice treat to receive in the mail.

    1. Mount Baldy about forty miles east of LA and forms the Cajon Pass with the San Bernardino Mountains, and the San Bernardino Mountains form the Banning Pass where they connect with the San Jacinto range. So it would depend on which freeway you are taking to driving back east, as each of these ranges are progressively farther east than the last. If you are taking the 10 you probably spotted Mount Baldy on the way to Hesperia, and if you are taking the 15 to Palm Springs, you probably spotted the San Bernardino Mountains, or San Jacintos. I think I need to write a blog about Southern California geography one of these days :). Thanks for commenting!
